Bossier Parish Police Jury Minutes Highlights

The Bossier Parish Police Jury held its final meeting of the year on December 18.

The Bossier Parish Police Jury instituted a 90-day pause in residential development earlier in the month. Police Jury President Philip Rodgers emphasized the importance of proactive planning.

“Next year, we will hold a series of meetings focused on creating a comprehensive plan to effectively manage the significant growth in both residential and commercial properties in Bossier,” Rodgers said. “These discussions will involve the community to ensure that our strategies align with the needs and aspirations of residents and businesses. Our goal is to promote sustainable growth while enhancing the quality of life for all Bossier residents.”

Philip Rodgers, Police Jury President

The jury has hired a traffic engineering firm to determine the needed traffic improvements in the area. The expedited report is expected to be delivered within the next 45 days.

Bossier Parish Sheriff’s Operation Christmas Wish

Just before Christmas, deputies and volunteers with the Bossier Parish Sheriff's Office delivered gifts to children as Operation Christmas Wish came to a festive close. The Sheriff said 269 children would receive gifts of 82 bicycles and "other goodies."

The Sheriff thanked the Plumbers and Steamfitters Local 141, the Posse Funeral Escort Team, Vicky's Dance, and "a lot of individuals that donated money and said go buy what you need." Thanks to all the Bossier residents, schools, and businesses who donated! Watch the video here.

NoBo Scoop Athlete of the Week

Cadence Tinsley! Benton Middle School | Girls Wrestling

Cadence has participated in softball and archery and started wrestling in August. She had her first pin at her last meet, and her new goal is to get a pin in under a minute against an opposing school this year! She hopes more girls would consider wrestling to make it a more competitive sport for female athletes.

*I will highlight one student athlete each week based on reader submissions. Please reply to this email (which is [email protected]) with your recommendation. The criteria are any student athlete in North Bossier, including private schools.
